So…how do you let people know your 100% ready to begin the next chapter of running a business photographing weddings, elopements, engagements and proposals after a very “interesting” last 3 years? The most appropriate in my mind is to begin with a wonderful new story of my most recent international destination wedding I had the privilege of photographing in Scotland UK.
Meeting new people from different cultures all over the world feeds my soul more than ANYTHING…no really…ANYTHING! This beyond amazing life, I have really been so very lucky to lead up to this point, continues to place opportunities to grow in my path. Thinking of where to have your wedding in the future? Maybe you’ve thought of a tropical climate to have your wedding? Check out a wedding I photographed in Singapore where it’s really warm!!
So as the story goes….my wonderful couple, Rachel & JJ, and I, (and my daughter Shelby who was my awesome assistant for the day),were out for a “day after” photo session so we could locate some really interesting backdrops in the area around Craigellachie in the Scottish Highlands without taking time away from guests on wedding day at the Craigellachie Hotel. This area is known to be the home of four of the most well known Scotch distilleries in the world: The Macallan, Aberlour, Glenfiddich and The Glenlivet. This was important to Rachel & JJ as they not only fell in love with each other and Scotland but also in the riches of Scotch.
The ONE place they wanted a photo at was a distillery and preferably in one of the still rooms. This was a Sunday mind you and many places were closed but luckily Glenfiddich was open, so we waltz into the tasting room/tour building with the hope of ah well, shall we say a bit of a miracle? Well, bottom line is we lucked out and in the right place at the right time! JJ bumps into an employee who, after he sees Rachel in her wedding dress, says sure, follow me. Wow, really? BONUS!!!! He takes us to this room and tells us we have a few minutes before another tour comes in. Time to have a vision, move quick and take advantage of a rare opportunity!! We walked away in wonder thinking, did we really have this experience? I am ecstatic to say that this photo will always remind me of this day and without a doubt, for Rachel & JJ as well.
