Wanting to push the envelope in men’s wedding fashion, we recently teamed up with Collier in Portland, Oregon to showcase a tux alternative in this fun, editorial groom inspiration shoot.
We all know that a persons display of individuality though fashion is a direct translation of who we think we are. Daring, cool, subdued, artistic, political, academic…..the list goes on and although I’m not saying those who don’t think about fashion think they’re boring but let’s be honest….we all have a picture in our heads of how we look and that’s the picture driving us to purchase and dress the way we do!
For me, I’ve learned that clothes that make me laugh or question fashion at stores are the ones I need to try on the most. Clothes that take you out of your comfort zone can actually make you feel renewed!! Just recently decided to try on this multicolored striped v neck t-shirt. Tight pink stripes, for certain reasons, don’t conjure up great images with most manly men, (even the ones who would look good in it). I saw it in Seattle but chickened out…wasn’t sure what my wife was going to think….blah, blah. I ended up buying it the next day in Portland on the drive back down to Bend and now I don’t think twice about wearing it. This concept always amazes me!!
I wanted to do a shoot like this to point out all the unique and really cool/fashionable ways for grooms to dress when they’re all to quick to grab what everyone else has done for decades. This shoot is dedicated to all the grooms out there who have the personality and charisma to pull some of these looks off but didn’t know they could or should. Remember, it’s your wedding, do what you want and make it your own!!
