We’ve been looking forward to Sara + Matt’s wedding ever since their e-session at the neon graveyard in Las Vegas. Sweet on the outside and adventurous on the inside, this couple had special spots picked out for their first look and creative portraits that included: the Painted Hills, an old wooden barn they used to play in as kids in Spray, Oregon and her father’s strawberry patch. As a special treat, the bride wore her mother’s wedding dress for the first look and portraits and then switched into her dress for the ceremony and reception…so Matt got two surprises! The most interesting thing happened during the first look…we captured a rainbow cloud (no rain in sight) behind them. We heard there was even a full sun ray circle back in Bend as well as the cloud. A beautiful natural phenomenon to compliment the moment.
A large portion of the whole town of Spray was no doubt there for their nuptials in a park that had a creek running through a structure that had the ceremony on one side and the head table for the bridal party on the other! It was super unique and beautiful. The bride decorated doilies under the plates with classic quotes on love for the big BBQ, added buttons to the napkin holders and wildflowers were abound. The reception had a custom made photo booth and the BIGGEST marshmallows in a fire pit and a s’mores table. It was to die for…
Sara + Matt, thank you for inviting us to capture your special day! You guys went over the top with special details and it showed in everything. We definitely look forward to meeting up again in Vegas on our next WPPI trip!
All the best,
B + W

WOW….just wow.
A hint of the rainbow cloud and the cracked clay….amazing. Shhhhh, don’t tell!
This is the first time we noticed the cloud and about 5 minutes after the ‘first look.’

First look and smooches, gotta love this moment…we sure do.
Sara’s father’s strawberry patch…we stole a few on the way, YUM.
The old barn they used to play in as kids! Rugged and fun…they’re actually standing on an old chicken coop 5 feet off the ground here.
BBQ picnic and wildflowers abound…
Bride’s slippers. On the back, one shoe had, “I do” ….and the other, “What I Want.” he he
The groom and his brother having a chat before heading over to the ceremony.
The two cutest flower girls and their pink tutu’s 🙂
One of the BEST cake smashing moments we’ve had!
